More work on the graphite drawing. It’s really relaxing going back to the simplicity of a pencil and a piece of paper. I wonder if that comes across in the finished work? Perhaps that’s why most purchasers prefer paintings – more energy. Well, today’s image is somewhere in between. A peaceful yet bright photo. In Northern Thailand there are these sort of reservations on farmland and the people who live there have no papers. So they entertain coachloads of foreigners and tourists and sell crafts. In return they get a place to build huts and live. I was told they’re like a zoo, and the farm owner gets their earnings for the most part. I had no way of verifying that, but it would explain the looks on their faces when the coachloads are gone. (I was a backpacker, and of no interest)
